So you’ve just spent your first Christmas together as a married couple, and you are also getting ready to enter the new year! creating newlywed new year’s resolutions together is a great way to start off the new year together…
Because you are newlyweds, your new year’s resolutions may look a little different this year! You won’t only have each of your personal resolutions, but you’ll also want to make some as a couple! These resolutions can be anywhere from financial (like how much you want to save or invest), where you want to travel this year, and how you want to work on your relationship together!
Here are 4 newlywed new year’s resolutions you should consider adding to your own list:
Exercise Together
Now exercise is a new year’s resolution pretty much everyone has… That’s why gyms are so full starting January! Change up this usual resolution by making it a newlywed new year’s resolution! Work out with your partner! And no, I don’t mean in that way. I mean put on some tennis shoes and run together! Or unroll the yoga mat or hit the gym side by side.
According to Psychology Today, working out together says there there are tons of benefits to working out with your partner, some of which include: increasing your happiness within your relationship, falling deeper in love with your partner, and increasing your emotional bond. Not to mention they also help you achieve your fitness goals.
Daily Gratitude With Eachother
There are so many benefits of being aware of the things you are grateful for in your life. Expressing gratitude enhances your positive emotions and psychological well-being, reduces impatience, reduces blood pressure, improves sleep, strengthen relationships, and so much more (Positive Psychology).
Why not bring all these benefits into your relationship by practicing gratitude with each other. You could either write down your gratitude in a journal and then share it with eachother, or you could even make it as simple as saying 3 or 4 things you are grateful for before bed!
Go On Weekly Dates
It is very important to keep dating after you are married. This creates an opportunity to stay connected, appreciate each other, and keep that spark alive! It can also be something to look forward to every week!

- Acts of Service
- Physical Touch
