Have you thought about having a wedding weekend for your wedding?
It seems like there are so many different types of weddings these days! Some different types include elopements, intimate weddings, micro weddings, day of weddings, destination weddings, and wedding weekends!
Wedding weekends are definitely our favorite out of all these, and here are a few reasons why:
Wedding Weekends are More Memorable
There is so much excitement on your wedding day that it’s easy to let everything just fly by! The day you’ve anticipated for so long combined with the nerves of making a lifelong commitment can make the day go by in the blink of an eye.
This is especialy true if you have a day-of wedding. This is because you have to adhere to a very strict schedule and are only able to start getting everything ready after you arrive at the venue. The wedding weekend schedule is a lot more spread out. This way you can focus less on the schedule and more on making memories.

You Are Less Likely To Forget To Pack Something
When you have a wedding weekend, the entire process is a lot more chill. Because you will have packed for the entire weekend, it is a lot less likely you will have forgotten something. We know that packing up for a day-of wedding can be stressful and it’s easy to forget something!
We’ve heard too many horror stories of arriving on the venue day-of… only to find that the couple had forgotten something important! Arriving the day before allows you to leave your house without being in a hurry or running behind. Even if you do realize you’ve forgotten something, it is more likely you’ll have time to go back and get it. This is because you will be there the day before the wedding instead of after you’ve arrived for the day-of.
Less day of travel = less stress
Worrying about traffic on the day of your wedding just adds unecessary stress. Having the bridal party and family already at the venue is a tremedous help. This is because everyone will already be there and be ready for pictures when you need them.
And after the wedding and reception, you don’t have to drive anywhere. This is fantastic because you will be simply ✨exhausted✨ after everything. You can just simply go up to your room and hit the hay!

Vendors love Wedding Weekends
Instead of having to stick to a strict schedule given by the venue, vendors can normally set up early! At our own venue, we’ll sometimes let vendors go ahead and set up a Thursday before an event. This is of course depending on the event schedule that week.

Wedding Weekends are Just More Fun
Having a wedding weekend seems like a mini-vacation for your entire wedding party! “Spreading out your wedding celebration across a full weekend is flat-out fun (Zola).”
The Friday upon arrival, guests usually go grab lunch or get their nails done. Other’s can play in the arcade, workout in the gym, watch movies, or swim in the pool! Guests are never bored when it comes to spending time at a wedding weekend.
